Tyson is a very solid player. He is strong on his feet and a talented ball runner. Tyson is a hard working in training and has good work ethics off the playing field. Tyson likes to get involved in a game and enjoys playing loose forward. He particularly enjoys the one-on-one contact in tackling. As a forward Tyson allows himself to roam around the playing field looking for work either on defence or attack. Tyson is a good leader and shows great leadership skills when commanding on the training paddock or playing field. His coaches hold Tyson in high regard. Tyson is very good on his feet and shows good foot work ability and agility when on attack. For a junior representative forward Tyson has a good ability to read opposition attack plays especially when asked to take the reigns against the outside backs where he played much of the 2011 season.

With the ball in hand Tyson is a strong tackle breaker, has good speed and displays mature vision to find opportunities and quick play the ball. He uses good initiative to find and identify space.
