Tulson Caird is a very hard working loose forward/second rower. Tulson is a very dedicated trainer and shows a never give up commitment to himself through his disciplined nature to training and self-development. Tulson has many years experience at Auckland and NZ domestic Premier grade level and has the potential to play at a higher level. Tulson is a solid runner and defender showing with very good technique in his abilities as a loose forward. Tulson is a tireless defender and enjoys the challenges of defence whilst making the easy yards up the midfield. Tulson is very mobile and quick of the mark. His presence in any forward pack is dominating and is well complemented by his support play. Tulson has good leg drive and has a powerful fend to complement his leg power and footwork.
Tulson is a no-nonsense runner and values each metre he gains for his team. Tulson has been used as a back up prop forward but is happily comfortable in the back row or loose forward position where he is often the team top tackler. Begining with the inclusion to the Auckland Bartercard cup representative squad as a second rower/back up prop forward Tulson was handsomely awarded the Man of the Match in the NZ Bartercard cup competition grand final in 2008 and has continued to deliver the goods on the playing field having taken up an opportunity with the Easts Tigers club in Queensland in 2009. Tulson is match hardened from this experience and enjoys the confrontation of the NRL dominated experienced forward packs. Tulson has loads of attacking ability and is a solid athlete who is currently playing with the Auckland Vulcans NSW cup side in 2010. His work rate and ability to deliver great work ethic is a key feature to the Auckland, NZ based side.
