ABOUT SOAPE
Soape is a mountain of a man. Strong on his feet and easily his team’s go to man for a solid platform / momentum. Fresh off wining a premiership in the very tough and uncompromising Auckland competition Soape has great ability with the ball in hand. He is hard to tackle and hard to bring down to ground. He has fantastic leg strength and has a good work rate. He defends very well around the ruck and can pull off a very big hit. A junior rugby union representative Soape has chanced his arm at rugby league in 2010 and has made great in roads in to stepping up and in to a semi to professional role with the NSW cup Auckland Vulcans. In his maiden year his local team the Otahuhu Leopards who placed 1st overall in round play played in the Auckland grand final wining this through this mac trucks match wining try in which he beat two defenders and bumped through the full back shrugging off two others to score next to the goal post. His bustling runs and huge hits put him in good stead for the 2010 Grand final man of the match.
Soape continued his good form and returned back from Mate Maa Tonga trials to be selected for the Tonga A team. Soape has good potential to continue his rise and career in rugby league and will no doubt have a solid off season.
