Firstly, welcome to the new PSP Management website and to the PSP Blog where members of our management team will look to make contributions as the year progresses. Be sure to let all your friends and family know that we will be bringing lots of cool initiatives. It has been a crazy year in sports management and an even more crazier start to the 2011 NRL season. With the (Benji Marshall and Todd Carney) new faces of NRL Rugby league gaining unwanted media attention through to the sacking of Canterbury Bulldogs player Ryan Tandy involved in the alleged Illegal match fixing to the discussions of player concussions. It no doubt has quenched the thirst that is the National Rugby League. Now to defend the rugby league sport I will ask a question which continues to dumbfound me. Why is it that rugby's popularity in Australasia is decreasing and rugby league is finally becoming the most watched game? Could it really be that rugby union is losing its support as many have discussed over my facebook post "boring with so many stoppages" and "boring due to All Blacks standing down players as it is World Cup year?" Or is rugby league now a sport that has had enough of being named the poor man's rugby and is gaining some credibility? Like to hear your thoughts?!
