ABOUT ALEX
Alex is a hard working prop forward/second rower. Fresh from the rugby union ranks in the every popular Canterbury region Alex has fitted in very well in rugby league. In his first year of playing rugby league he was a front runner and well performing forward for the strong Papanui Tigers club. Alex is a strong runner with the ball. A hard hitting forward and has a great work ethic for defence and support play. His hard work and determination showed not only on the playing field but also in training. Alex was a previous junior rugby union representative before making the switch to rugby league. His transition went smoothly and his enjoyment of physical contact grew. He was later recognised by his club as the club Player of the year and had also been selected for the Canterbury/South Island representative team to play in the NZ National rugby league. In 2010, Alex has proven his worth, strength and commitment again by having another strong year with the Papanui Tigers club. He strongly led his team from the front row as his team were narrowly defeated in the ever competitive Canterbury rugby league competition. Alex is in the process of completing his bachelor of commerce degree he obtained from the University of Canterbury. He is a hard working, well performing and ever progressing forward with a ton of potential to match any other. At the rate Alex is developing there will be no doubt higher level clubs will be talking more about the competitively hard playing forward.
